"Pee Wee" Reese

Called "Exhibits" by collectors as they were issued by the Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago, Ill., this group covers a span of 20 years. Each unnumbered black-and-white card, printed on heavy stock, measures 3-3/8" by 5-3/8" and is blank-backed. The Exhibit Suppy Co. issued new sets each year, with many players being repated year after year (sometimes repeating the previous year's pose, while occasionally changing pictures); other players appeared in only one or two years, thereby creating levels of scarcity.

In 1962 and 1963, Exhibit sets were issued that featured statistics on the back; they are considered separate sets and are listed separately in the checklists below. Card fronts look exactly like all other 1947-66 Exhibits, but are not blank-backed. Cards from the 1962 set can be found with statistics in either black or red ink, with the red ink being much scarcer. The 1963 set has statistics in black ink only.

Many variations of the same basic pose are found in the group. Those cards are listed in the checklist that follows with an "a", "b", etc. following the assigned card number. The complete set includes all variations.
